SEPARATION FROM DREAMERS AND DESPISERS TO SECURE THE FAITH
Reference: Jude 1:3,8-10
In an era where the church encounters subtle compromise and persuasive error, the Apostle Jude’s charge to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude 1:3) is urgent and necessary. This study examines Jude 1:3,8–10 to expose the tactics of “filthy dreamers” and “despisers,” to explain why separation from them is necessary, and to show how believers must guard and preserve the faith once delivered

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.” (Jude 1:3,8-10).
How Believers Should Respond
1. Confront and Constrain with Courage
Discernment and boldness are required when confronting persuasive false teachers. Speak truth in love, protect the flock, and follow biblical procedure for dealing with false teachers.
2. Caution and Confine the Despisers
When a teacher or member openly despises authority or the core doctrines of Christ, the church must act prudently — warn, remove influence, and pray for repentance.
3. Self-Examine Continually
Regularly re-evaluate your own heart and doctrine. Do not let personal dreams or ambitions dilute your commitment to the gospel.
Quotable Quotes from Pastor (Dr) W.F. Kumuyi

A Call to a Decision
If you feel convicted, pray this prayer of faith:
“Father, thank You for revealing my true state through Your Word. I acknowledge my sins and recognize that Jesus died and rose again for my redemption. I repent and put my faith in Jesus’ sacrifice. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
