THE POWER IN THE TONGUE

1^st verse

For He that will love life, and see good days

Let him refrain his tongue from evil

And guide his lips that they don’t speak no guile and ev’ry

Day his tongue to bridle

Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit of the thereof

For ev’ry idle word that people speak

They’ll give account to God on judgement day

So do not speak those words, your heart would defile

Refrain your tongue and guide it all the way

There is a time to speak, and time of silence

So, let the Holy Spirit lead you

Rely upon the grace of precious Jesus

Obey his word and He will help you

4^th verse

If you must keep your life away from trouble

Do not allow your tongue to grumble

And let not unclean words from your mouth proceed

So that you will not stumble

5^th verse

The words of my mouth and the mediation

Of my heart to Thee O Lord, my God

Acceptible in Thy sight oh Saviour

You are my strength and my light, the living word
