ASCENDING ANOINTING FOR THE END-TIME HARVEST
Luke 4:18-22; 2 Corinthians 1: 20-22.
Ascending anointing is the anointing that starts and increases until it reaches the greatest that you can contain. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?” (Luke 4:18-22). Anointing and the infilling of the Holy Ghost go together. The anointing is given to us so that we can proclaim deliverance to the captives and have the performance of total deliverance for those who are captured, controlled and tormented by the devil. When we have the anointing, we can open the people’s eyes to understand the Scriptures, to see the Saviour, and to experience the transformational power from heaven. Many people go through life bruised by Satan, sickness, spirits, and suffering, but we can set them free with the anointing.
We can read the entire Bible, but if what we read is not fulfilled in our hearts, ears and ministry, our reading will be in vain. But when you read God’s promises, prophecies, and proclamations and make them fulfilled in your life, the anointing will take you to the highest peak of ministry. “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” (2 Corinthians 1:20-22).
The anointing of God will come upon your life in Jesus’ Name as you believe in the promises of the word of God that you read.
1. INITIAL ANOINTING FROM THE SAVIOUR
John 1:12, 16; 1 John 2:27-29; Matthew 10:1, 5-8; Mark 3:14-15; 6:12-13; Luke 10:1, 9, 17-20; John 4:34-38.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12). The first step to receive the initial anointing for sonship is to receive Christ and believe on His name regardless of which denomination or assembly you find yourself. “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” (1 John 2:27). When we receive Christ, the anointing that He gives us teaches us the basic things such as that Jesus is the Saviour, that the Bible is the word of God, that God is Who is He and that He can do what He says He can do, that there is judgement at the end of life. After calling His disciples, they were converted, consecrated to the Lord, submitted to the Lord, and saw the demonstration of the power of God through Christ before He delegated responsibilities to them. “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.” (Matthew 10:1).
Christ delegated into the hands of His disciples the initial anointing to go out demonstrate the things he had demonstrated before them. After responding to the call of Christ, the conversion will first come, followed by consecration, submission, demonstration, delegation, supervision, and correction until the consummation of the ministry.
“These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:5-8).
At this time, because the disciples only had initial anointing, Jesus sent them to only the Jews. However, He sent them to the whole world when their anointing increased. The initial anointing is limited, but the increased anointing is for the world. What Peter could not do with the initial anointing, He was able to do with the increased anointing. Christ commands us to heal the sick; He would not command us to do what we could not. “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:” (Mark 3:14-15).
It is wonderful that as Christ sends us, He does not leave us alone, and he will take care of whatever confronts us or we confront is the line duty. There is solution to every problem in the kingdom of God. As you go with God’s word and in Christ’s Name, mighty things will happen through you. Christ gave the disciples initial anointing before they went out, and when they returned, He gave them an increased anointing over all enemies.
2. | INCREASED ANOINTING FOR SERVANTHOOD. Isaiah 11:2-3; Luke 22:27; 2 Kings 2:2-15; 4:2-6; Philippians 2:5-8; 1Corinthians 13:1-7, 13. |
Whatever we receive, we should expect it to increase. As you refuse to stay at the same level you were when you first believed, there will be an increase in your life and your ministry. As you increase, Christ’s power, authority, and assurance will increase in your life in Jesus’ Name. With Elisha’s initial anointing, all he did was wash the hands of Prophet Elijah, but when an increased anointing came upon him, he did exploits. “And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel.
And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.” (2 Kings 2:2). When you decide to receive the anointing regardless of whatever challenges come your way, you will have an increased anointing. “And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee.
And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.” (2 Kings 2:9). Elisha took his request for an increased anointing personally by asking for a double portion of the anointing upon Elijah. The first thing that happens after you have prayed for the initial, activated, and increased anointing is the signal that you have received the anointing. After Elisha received the double portion, he activated the anointing by demonstrating the increased anointing. When you have the anointing, it comes with revelation; revelation will come into your ministry in Jesus’ Name. Elisha had an increased anointing to the point that after he died, even his bones raised the dead.
3. IMMEASURABLE ANOINTING FOR SERVICE. 1 Corinthians 12:7-12; 2 Kings 6:14-18; 7:1-2, 16-20; 13:14-21; Acts 5:12-16; 1 Corinthians 2:9-12; 2 Corinthians 1:20-21.
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The immeasurable anointing is available for everyone, both male and female. Women like Deborah, Hannah, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ruth, Mary, Mary and Martha all had their portion of experiencing the immeasurable anointing. Once you remove the stumbling block of limitation, you will see the glory of God.
Men like Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack, Abednego, Peter, and Philip also had theirs; you are the appointed, assigned, and appointed one to confront all the things that challenge the church of the living God. Whatever they received was by the Spirit of God, and you will receive yours in Jesus’ Name. You will receive a new and greater anointing in Jesus’ Name as you believe
