LIVING WITH THE MINDSET OF IMPACT

TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 1:27; GALATIANS 2:20
We have been traveling with the letters of IMPACT. With letter ‘I’ interrupting the insignificant to become an influential person. We got to ‘M’ moving up from mediocrity unto mastery by a miracle. Letter ‘P’ calls us to pursue a purpose-driven life to its peak. ‘A’ is advancing acts/actions/attitude to a very advanced achievement while ‘C’ is about coping and not copping out for comprehensive contribution. Tonight, I will be dealing with ‘T’ which will finalize everything. You will be transformed, transported, transmitted and you will be taken to a kind of triumph you have never seen before.
Today, I will take IMPACT as a word, something which comes upon you and works wonders. Today, I am talking to you on LIVING WITH THE MINDSET OF IMPACT.
The challenge with him is that he has spelt and approached IMPACT the wrong way, upside-down, therefore he does not have the mindset of IMPACT. He is:
👉I- AN INCORRIGIBLE IDLER. He is always idle and lazy, not wanting to do anything with his hands or go anywhere with his feet.
👉M- A MEANDERING MISFIT. If you look at the stream, it does not flow in a straight line but follows the path of the least resistance. It meanders. People like this who put IMPACT upside down: a father, mother, pastor, coach may want to put them right, but they are:
👉P- PROUD PARASITES. They will not read their own books, spend their own money but depend on others as parasites. When you try to instruct and put them in the right direction, they are so proud.
👉A- ANGRY ADDICTS. They put their own impacts in a zigzag way, hence they do not have the impact they ought to have but are addicted to drugs, substance or things which injure their lives.
👉C- CARNAL CONTENDERS. There are people who can argue, you can bring up 70 reasons why they should take a path but they will not agree because they are carnal contenders, always full of contentions and fighting for what will degrade, destroy and defile them.
👉T- TRUTHLESS TONGUE. Imagine a situation where the tongue of someone sticks out and is seen everywhere.
To have an impact, you must turn around and put aside all these vices. Once you settle that, I will show you what you ought to be. I can see great people who will have impact on their environment, society, and country in front of me, the Lord will make it to be so in Jesus name.
POINT 1. ADMIRE, ASPIRE, ACQUIRE THE MIND OF IMPACT
If there is anything beautiful, marvellous and glorious in the world, it is the mind of impact. Admire, aspire and acquire it.
What kind of mind?
ILLUMINATED MIND (Hebrews 10:32; Ephesians 4:23-24)
You are able to think, act, and live right when you have an illuminated mind, and you are able to be lifted up.
MEDITATIVE MIND (Psalm 1:1-3; 1 Timothy 4:15)
People who are not able to meditate upon what they see, hear and do jump from day to day, and from failure to failure, but those who have meditative minds do not sit, stand or walk with the ungodly because they know the end of the perpetual sinner and stubborn scorner.
The meditative minds meditate in the words of God, the word of power which takes us from where we are to the peak. What will be the result? He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, his leaves shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.
PEACEFUL MIND (Isaiah 26:3-4; Philippians 4:7–9)
Someone said “You cannot win an international war when you have a civil war in your own country”. It is the same with man, there are challenges and conflicts coming from outside, if you don’t have peace on the inside, you cannot have peace with others outside.
You have perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Christ.
ASPIRING MIND. Philippians 3:12–14; Luke 16:16
This is one who have achieved but is still aspiring for more. Some people don’t set goals for themselves in life, but just make resolutions to be different each year without any definite plan on how to achieve it.
COURAGEOUS MIND. Joshua 1:5-9; Acts 20:24
If Joshua had thought that in spite of the promises of God to him, he could not achieve what God has placed before him like Moses, he would have failed.
TEACHABLE MIND. Ecclesiastes 4:13; Proverbs 9:9
Some people, as soon as they learn something small, they don’t want to continue learning. They are no longer teachable. If you are not teachable, you cannot amount to much in life. If you will move forward, you have to learn new things.
POINT 2. BEHOLD, BELIEVE, BECOME WITH MOTIVES OF IMPACT
There are people who have made Impact, who are still making it and will continue to make it until the last day. Behold, believe and become part of them with the motives of impact.
👉I-ISAIAH (Isaiah 6:5-8; Hebrews 1:3)
Isaiah was not one to hide his shortcomings and hide his head in the sand like the ostrich, but he owned up to them as soon as they were revealed to him. Was he not already saved? He was, but the depravity and shortcomings must be removed from him. After the work of sanctification had been carried out in him, he answered the call of God to go and work for Him. God will send you also.
👉M- MOSES: (Hebrews 11:24–27; Revelation 21:15)
Many times, the good overshadows and overcrowds the best, and when you just choose to accept whatever comes your way, that is final.
Moses would have become the next Pharaoh if he had stayed back in Egypt. Pharaoh had no son, and his daughter adopting Moses made him the Pharaoh’s son automatically, but that would have prevented him from carrying out the assignment which God had for him, which was far, far better.
👉P- PAUL (Ephesians 3:8-9; Galatians 1:15-16)
God called Paul and he responded. By the grace of God, he preached among the Gentiles the deep and unsearchable riches of the gospel.
👉A- ABRAHAM (Hebrews 11:8,10; Romans 4:16-25)
By faith Abraham responded to the call of God and continued to fall Him until he achieved the status of God’s friend.
👉C- CORNELIUS (Acts 10:1,30–33; 11:13–16)
Immediately Cornelius heard the instruction from the Angel, he sent for Peter. Some people will not act on whatever instruction they hear immediately. They postpone till later, and in no time, they forget about it. The secret is obeying immediately even if it is strange to us.
👉T- TIMOTHY (Philippians 2:19–22; 1 Timothy 6:20,21)
Timothy was a selfless, self-sacrificing young man. He cared deeply for the people of God. He served with Paul in the work of the Gospel.
POINT 3. CONNECT, CONSECRATE AND CONTINUE WITH THE MASTER OF IMPACT
Christ is the Master of Impact, the power behind every success and the Maker of everyone who has made credible impact in the world. Hence, know Him, connect with Him, consecrate to, and continue with Him.
He is our:
👉I- INTERCESSOR. (Hebrews 7:25,26; John 17:9,15–17,20)
Christ is on the right hand-side of the Father, interceding for you to become who the Father has ordained you to be.
M- MEDIATOR/MESSIAH (John 1:41,42; Daniel 9:24–26a)
Andrew brought his brother, Simon Peter to Christ. This Youth Convocation, Impact is to usher you to the Lord so that you can be who you ought to be, and the effort will not be wasted. Jesus prophesied into his life, so shall it be for you, your present and future will be better than your past.
P -PRINCE OF PEACE (Acts 5:30,31; Revelation 1:5–8)
What Christ as a Prince of Peace has done in other people’s lives He will do in your life. He will be the Prince, Counselor, and Controller in your life and take you places in Jesus name.
A -ADVOCATE (1 John 2:1; Hebrews 9:24)
Christ is the only Advocate who can stand for and protect your interests in the courts of the universe. He will stand for you where you don’t have human lawyers to defend your person, past, properties, projects, and peak He is calling you to.
C -THE CAPTAIN OF OUR SALVATION (Hebrews 2:9,10; 12:2,14)
For us, Jesus tasted the death we should have died. You are saved and delivered from eternal death (eternal separation from God) which you would have suffered. The Lord is bringing many sons to glory, including you.
T- THE TRUTH, THE WAY, AND LIFE (John 14:6; 8:32,36)
Christ is the Truth everlasting, supernatural, the truth that saves, heals, and delivers. Knowing Him makes you free and free indeed. Through Him, you can come to the Father and every promise from Genesis to Revelation will revolutionize your life.
