A covenant is an agreement that God has made with man. Just like the covenant of marriage which is built on joy, fellowship and care, God has made a covenant to care, provide, heal and bless you. The good news is that God’s covenant with man is everlasting, it spans till the end of life. “Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers. And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee” (Deuteronomy 7:12,15). The covenant of healing means that God is willing and able to take away all diseases, infirmities, weaknesses, impotency and everything that causes you to be feeble. Perfect health from God is your portion in Jesus name.
1. THE COMMENCEMENT OF HEALING FOR HIS RECEIVED PEOPLE
Exodus 15:26; Psalm 105:37; 107:20
“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). The terms of the covenant of healing between God and man requires that man listen to the commandment of God and do what is right in His sight. To partake in the covenant of healing, you should be ready to hear the word and do the word, hear the word and repent, make Him your God, and follow the word as it is revealed unto you. “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes” (Psalm 105:37). The commencement of the covenant brings healing, provision and strength. Healing from the sicknesses of old age is a part of the covenant. “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20).
2. THE CONTINUITY OF HEALING FOR HIS REDEEMED PEOPLE
Psalm 103:3-5; Mark 16:15-20, Hebrews 13:8
What you don’t use, you lose. Once your healing has commenced, you need to ensure that it continues by engaging in activities that can help to sustain what you have received. If you have received the healing of sight, use the eyes to read always. If you have received the healing of mobility, keep on using the legs to walk. Avoid habits and activities that can lead to a relapse. Maintain the health that God has given you. Now that you are strong, don’t misuse the strength and energy with backbiting, gossip, and idleness. Chew the word of God and your good health will continue in Jesus name. “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:3-5). The covenant of healing also comes with salvation from sin. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” (Mark 16:15-20). Henceforth, the Lord will work with you, on you, and in you. You will be empowered to heal the sick and do unprecedented miracles, just like Christ. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus Christ is always with you, leading, helping, and renewing you.
3. THE CONSUMMATION OF HEALING FOR HIS RENEWED PEOPLE
Isaiah 30:26; Luke 4:18-21; Matthew 14:36
As the moon shines dimly by borrowed light; that is how some people are. They are not exactly where they should be. They are always a step away. However, when the Son of God shines on you, you will shine brighter and brighter. “Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound” (Isaiah 30:26). Transformation comes through Jesus. This transformation will reflect in every area of your life. The difference will be undeniable. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears” (Luke 4:18-21). Every captive to evil devices is delivered through the covenant. “And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole” (Matthew 14:36). Christ comes to receive sinners, redeem them, and then impact them with the miracle of signs and wonders. You will be a partaker in Jesus name.
