THE PRAYER THAT MAKES EVERYONE’S BANDS LOOSED- PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI
Text: Acts 16:23-26.
“And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” (Acts 16:23-26). Paul and Silas were cast into prison, and at the midnight of their suffering, and sorrow, with feet in stock, and with their chains and shackles, they prayed. No complaints tonight, there will be a cure; no murmuring tonight, there will be miracles; no discussion or debate tonight, there will be deliverance in Jesus Name. The foundation of your prison will be shaken tonight and every door that has been closed in your life, family, profession, and desires will be open in Jesus Name. Every one’s band will be loosed tonight in Jesus Name. The sick, the tormented, and the traumatised—everyone’s bands will be loosed without any exception. Everyone who has been tied by legal powers, by occultic powers, by physical powers, or by personal choice will be loosed without any exception in Jesus Name.
1. THE PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS THAT LOOSES EVERYONE’S BANDS
Acts 16:23-26; 12:5-11; Psalm 146:6-8; James 5:15-16.
“And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” (Acts 16:23-26). There are hospitals for children because we have stripes from infancy. Being educated and having a good job with big earnings does not shield us from the stripes in this world. Everyone who passes through this world, except they discover the secret of the one by whose stripes we are healed, will go through life with many stripes. The progress of Paul and Silas is stopped when they are cast into prison. In life, we have dreams, intentions, and strategies to get us there, but the people of the world who have authority in this world can imprison and shut us up; that is why Christ came to open every prison door that wants to keep you from getting where you want to go. Satan hands over many people to the jailor but you are delivered tonight in Jesus Name. When tests and trials come to our lives, they come so that we will have testimonies, and problems come so that we will have power manifestation. As we hear the word tonight, we will also pray and miracles, healing, and deliverance will come. As Paul and Silas prayed, a miracle happened suddenly; as you pray tonight, a miracle will happen to you suddenly in Jesus Name. Although everyone’s bands were loosed, they did not act it out, but they remained where they were. There are people that after they are loosed, continue to hold on to the things they are loosed from, but tonight you will get up, walk, and run in Jesus Name. “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:15- 16). As we pray the prayer of faith, the Lord will raise you up, and you will not hold on to the things you are loosed from again in Jesus Name. My prayer for you tonight will avail much: there will be a deeper healing for deep sicknesses and a greater healing for great sicknesses.
2. THE PRAISES OF THE REDEEMED THAT LOOSE FROM EVERY BONDAGE
Acts 16:25-26; Psalm 22:3-5; Psalm 34:1,3,18-19,22; 2 Chronicles 20:20-23.
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” (Acts 16:25-26). When Paul and Silas sang and praised God, the prisoners, captives, the sick, and the incarcerated heard their prayers and praises. We praise God at all times; we praise God before the manifestation because of what He will do, in the middle of the manifestation because of what He is doing, and after the manifestation for what He has done. If you have great imprisonment or a great problem, a great earthquake will come and blow everything away in Jesus Name. The foundation of where your bondage, curse, and impossibility came from is shaking already and all the doors shut against you are open in Jesus Name. I see your bands loosed and your chains broken in Jesus Name. “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.” (Psalms 22:3-5). When you are praising God from the depth of your heart, the Almighty God comes from heaven and inhabits the praises of His children.
3. THE PROMISE TO THE REPENTANT THAT LIBERATES EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES
Acts 16:27-34; 4:12; 20:20-21; Romans 10:9-10.
“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:30-31). The Lord will take away every yoke that has been placed on you in Jesus Name. When all the enemies that put yokes on you see that you are now free, they will honour you and respect you because a power higher and greater than their power has come to set you free. “And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.” (Acts 16:35). The Lord has done everything for you, and you don’t have to do any other thing to be let go. All the powers that bind you have realised that they cannot do anything against what Christ has finished at Calvary, and I am sent to you now to tell you that you can go free, that your chains and your shackles are broken. Depart and go with peace in your heart and your life. Your sickness is gone, your sin is forgiven, and there is a manifestation in your life.
