GHS 113 : Go And Tell The Story Lyrics
GHS 113, “Go And Tell The Story,” is a personal witness hymn that flows directly from a believer’s own encounter with Christ. The instruction is simple: go and tell your friends what happened when the Lord met you on your way. Tell them how He cleansed your spirit, how He drove out the enemies that had reigned within, how His power saved you and transformed you. The hymn keeps personal testimony and gospel proclamation together, making them two sides of the same act of witness.
The refrain expands the call from telling friends to telling far and wide, declaring the death of Christ for sinners and the promise that faith in that message brings immediate cleansing. This hymn appears as number 113 in the Gospel Hymns and Songs (GHS) collection, used in Deeper Life Bible Church and related assemblies across West Africa.
Hymn Lyrics – GHS 113: Go And Tell The Story
- Go and tell the story to thy friends to-day, How the Lord of glory met thee on thy way; How He cleansed thy spirit from the stain of sin, Driving out the foes who reigned thy heart within.
Go and tell the story, tell it far and wide, How the Lord of glory for the sinner died; And the soul that hears it, and in faith believes, Straightway he the cleansing from the Lord receives.
-
Go and tell the story, of His pow’r to save, Of the sinful “legion” sunk beneath the wave; Tell of His compassion, of His love so true, Of the wondrous things the Lord hath done for you.
-
Go and tell the story, how He reigns above, Winning men to glory thro’ His dying love; How He waits to crown them kings forevermore, In the home awaiting, on the other shore.
