GHS 122 : Somebody Needs Your Love Lyrics
GHS 122, “Somebody Needs Your Love,” is a compassionate witness hymn that shifts the focus from what the believer might say to what they can give. The world is full of people in darkness, sadness, helplessness, and temptation, and what many of them most need is not a formal presentation but a demonstration of love. The hymn recognises that the Christian’s love, expressed practically, opens the door for the message of Jesus to enter. Show them that Jesus is all in all, the hymn says, and do it through the love you carry with you.
Each stanza names a different kind of person who is waiting: those yearning for gladness, those needing courage, those sighing for heaven and home. This hymn appears as number 122 in the Gospel Hymns and Songs (GHS) collection, used in Deeper Life Bible Church and related assemblies across West Africa.
Hymn Lyrics – GHS 122: Somebody Needs Your Love
- Out in the darkness of sorrow and sin, Somebody needs your love; Led by the Master, that soul you may win, Somebody needs your love.
Somebody needs your love, Somebody needs your love; Someone in sadness, Yearning for gladness, Somebody needs your love.
-
Many are helpless, and wait for your call, Somebody needs your love; Show them that Jesus is all and in all, Somebody needs your love.
-
Someone is tempted to turn from the right, Somebody needs your love; Longing for courage and strength for the fight, Somebody needs your love.
-
Some are down-hearted, in sorrow they roam, Somebody needs your love; Many are sighing for heaven and home, Somebody needs your love.
