Scriptural Faith

Supernatural Freedom Through Scriptural Faith, Pastor W. F. kumuyi

Text: Exodus 3:7; 6:13, 26.

And The Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; (Exodus 3:7). What the Lord said then, He still says today, for He is Unchanging. And He has seen your tears and afflictions, and He will deliver you. You are going to a better place, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Today, you are out of every dungeon, bondage, and calamity that has followed you until this day. A new life, a new joy, and a new achievement, because the Lord is bringing you out of and into a land flowing with milk and honey, and you will receive this.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt” (Exodus 6:13).

Moses started and Aaron joined on to emphasize the message given to Moses, and the message remains the same. As Aaron joined Moses, the same declaration, charge, and word, that we should preach and teach to the ‘Moses’ that the Lord gave the vision. There should be no alteration, no change, it is the same message, and we must follow the foundation that our GS has laid for the ministry.

As leaders, pastors, overseers, workers, and members, we must not change the doctrines and the foundation on which Christ has built the Deeper Life Bible Church.

We must remain and be faithful to these doctrines and the foundation. With Scriptural faith in the Lord, everyone will have supernatural freedom.

POINT  1: THE FOUNDATION OF SUPERNATURAL FREEDOM THROUGH FAITH. Exodus 12:12-13

The foundation is very important, for what can you build without a foundation? For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt” (Exodus 12:12-13).

This is the foundation, for they have to be under the coverage of the blood and be cleansed with the blood. And this is the Foundation of our Christian profession, what Jesus did as our Substitute and Sacrifice through His Blood, for through this blood we have supernatural freedom.

(i) Pardon and Peace through Saving Faith.

Luke 7:47-50; Ephesians 2:8,14; 1:7; Romans 5:1-2.

When you come to the Lord, turn away from your sins, and remove your personality from sin, that is when the pardon and the peace of God come to you. “Wherefore I say unto thee, her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said to the woman, thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace” (Luke 7:47,50). Her faith granted her pardon, forgiveness of sins, and the peace of God in her life as she came to Christ.

Our arguments cannot justify us, nor our lawyer, it is when you come in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, that we have forgiveness and peace with God, Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1-2). As you are pardoned, we are heading for the glory that the peace of God comes into our lives.

(ii) Purging and Purity through Sanctifying Faith

Acts 15:9; 26:18; Hebrews 13:12- 14; 1; Thessalonians 5:22-24.

Faith is Many sided, you will see the salvation, sanctification, and strength through the power of the Holy Ghost. People thought that faith is only for healing and salvation. But then faith is for the purging and purity of our hearts and lives as well, “And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith (Acts 15:9).

Purity of heart is not only for the pastors, leaders, and apostles, it is for everyone that is saved and forgiven by Christ. As you come with this level of faith, the sanctifying faith with the saving faith, then the Lord purify your heart by faith.

Then we are set free, from the external and inner sin of depravity supernaturally. “Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:22-24). As you are pardoned and forgiven by God, you don’t think nor plan to commit sins anymore. Then He comes to sanctify you as you come to Him in faith, for He is Faithful and He will do it. Peace and pardon, purging and purity, He will do these.

(iii) Possession of Power through Strengthening Faith

Ephesians 3:16-17; Acts 1:8; 6:8; Luke 24:49.

When faith comes, we are strengthened. Fears weaken, blindfold, and make us forget the purpose of our calling and the provision of God on Calvary. But when faith comes in, fears, darkness, and anxiety will vanish away in your life. Courage and boldness will enter into you, and you will have what God has provided for His Church. “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,” (Ephesians 3:16-17).

When the Holy Ghost comes into you, He strengthens you so that Christ that has never lost any battle will dwell in you mightily. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

He started with Jerusalem where the disciples were afraid and locked up themselves because they needed the power of the Holy Ghost. And they succeeded, and we too can succeed today as we receive the power of the Holy Ghost. We will receive power! The weakest saint of God will be turned to another man when the power of the Holy Ghost comes, he will be sent to go and set others free. “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8).

When you are full of faith and the power of the Holy Ghost, He will propel you to get to your destination in Jesus’ Name. But we must tarry and wait in the presence of the Lord for this power of the Holy Ghost, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). This power is only for the tarrying and faithful people who know that they need more of the power of the Holy Ghost since they have received salvation and sanctification.

POINT 2: THE FOUNTAIN OF SUFFICIENT FULNESS THROUGH FAITH

Exodus 17:3-6; Psalm 78:15-16

The children of Israel on their journey in the wilderness were confronted with some challenges on their way, they needed water to drink (Exodus 17:3-6). No water to drink, but there was a Rock, and that Rock was Christ. This Rock has been smitten that he became the Fountain of Living Waters for everyone, and not for the Israelites only, “He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers” (Psalms 78:15-16).

(i) The Fresh Supply through Sonship Faith

Philippians 4:19; Galatians 2:20; 3:14,22; Revelation 14:12.

…” But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). The need of your soul, heart, body, family and all your need, my GOD shall supply that need. But how will this be done? “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

As ministers, we must only preach what you have just like Paul the Apostle. What the preacher says that the people should have, himself, the proclaimer must have. Whatever you teach must be practiced in our lives as preachers and teachers of the word of God. It is the Sonship faith that meets all our needs.

(ii) Our Full Satisfaction through Similar Faith

2 Corinthians 4:13,18; Romans 4:12,16-18; Hebrews 6:12,18; Acts 27:22-25.

Similar implies like-faith with other patriarchs of faith. “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” (2 Corinthians 4:13). The same kind of faith that they had at that time if God has not changed, and the same problems that they had, we have today, then we must have similar faith like them. And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be” (Romans 4:12,17-18). Similar faith to Abraham is that we believe against hope when all the conditions around us seem hopeless and discouraging. We will have that same kind of faith.

(iii) The Fundamental Sufficiency of Surpassing Faith

Matthew 8:8-10; 15:22-28; Ephesians 6:16-17; Mark 11:22-24.

Some things are fundamental needs of men like air, water, sleep, etc. And all the fundamental needs that we lack as we journey toward Heaven, the Lord is going to supply all our fundamental needs in Jesus’ Name. We have surpassing faith in God. “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” (Matthew 8:8).

This is the surpassing faith that the Israelites had. The centurion believed in the spoken words of Jesus only. And when God grants you that surpassing faith, all your needs and prayers are answered in Jesus’ Name. The Lord has the right to tell you to your face who you are and how you are just like He did to the woman of Canaan that came to Him for mercy and deliverance of her daughter.

The test came to her, and she passed her test just like you will pass your test as well, and she had surpassing faith, “Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:28). This will happen in your life in Jesus Name.

POINT 3: THE FORTRESS OF STEADFAST FORTITUDE BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:24-27.

A fortress shields us from all dangers and wild animals. It is a fortress because you have steadfast fortitude and courage that you will not be afraid of anything or threats of enemies. Nothing will shake you from the faith you have in the Lord as a Fortress. And protection is for you, and when others have run away, you will still be standing no matter the waters that passed under the bridge or the Jericho walls before you.

You will remain faithful to the end in Jesus’ Name. “By faith Moses, when he came to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward” (Hebrews 11:24-26).

Moses chose to suffer the fire of affliction because he has faith in the Almighty God that will burn away all the fire of afflictions. The dainty food and meal of Egypt and Nebuchadnezzar will make you fat, flabby, and feeble spiritually, they will make you fearful, with no backbone. But Moses denied himself of all these dainties. There are things to forsake, the things of Egypt, of this world, the lusts, attractions, and pollution of this world, we must forsake. The rod of the king was minimized in the life of Moses, for he saw Him Who is Invisible.

This is the solution to all our challenges, like Moses, we see Him Who is Invisible even if the world around us cannot see Him. When you see the Invisible God by you all the time, the Lord will roll all your problems and mountains away. Those who cry will only see the mountains, they don’t see the Messiah, the Mountain-Mover. When you walk through life, and you know that your Saviour, Sanctifier, and the Baptiser in the Holy Ghost will never leave you, then you will climb every mountain and conquer every challenge of life. And Satan will ask all his agents to clear out of your way. The giants and conquerors are coming, let all the agents of darkness, evil powers, and wicked forces clear out of the way in Jesus’ Name.

(i) The Surprising Wonder of Silent Faith

Luke 17:12-14,19; John 4:46-53; 1 Kings 17:11-16; Daniel 6:20-23.

(ii) The Significant Wonder of Sightless Faith – John 20:24-29; 9:1,5-7; Hebrews 11:30; 2 Corinthians 5:7.

(iii) The Spectacular Wonder of Strong Faith – Romans 4:19-21; Mark 11:22-24; Luke 17:5-6; Acts 16:25-26.
