THE UNJUST TRIAL OF THE JUST ONE

 INTRODUCTION

Acts 3:13, 14; 1Peter 3:15

“Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover.”
Jesus Christ is being referred to as the “JUST ONE”. The trials, the judgement of Jesus, the betrayal of Jesus Christ. He has shown to us as the Holy an Righteous one). Revealing His personality and the Holiness of the “JUST ONE”!
The prophet prophecy about the coming of the JUST ONE (Jesus Christ). Christ the Saviour been referred to has the “JUST ONE”. He was pure, holy and righteous and yet, he was crucified. And he was buried. The reason why why he came and suffered and crucified on the cross of Calvary (He suffered for the unknown sin, he bear the punishment for all “Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the Sin of the world”. Christ suffered for our sins so that, our sins might be plotted out.

POINT 1: THE CRUEL MISJUDGEMENT AND WICKEDNESS IN TRADITIONS

John 18:28-32; Mark 7:9,13; John 18;29-33; Luke 23:1-3 ; Psalms 35:16; Matthew 23:23-26; Acts 25;16; Luke 24:44

“Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover”

Christ gives us the Righteousness from above “Pilate then went out unto them, and said. What accusation brings ye against this man?” “They answered and said unto him. If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.” The scripture revealed to us how the people rejected the offer of Christ forgiveness and the truth that involved “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” The courage of Christ wasn’t to be limited, he remained bold and courageous. He keep his standing for what is right. For all the allegations said concerning him, he teaches, he proclaimed for all nation about God (to become good citizens of heavenly kingdom).

Jesus Christ knew all things written concerning him will be fulfilled…What are the times of Jesus .Those who are traditional in worship, but there in their heart full of evil, their heart is full of hypocrisy and uncleanness .The Jewish people are guilty of not giving Jesus Christ any chance to answer question by himself. The real situation is, God knew it will happen. Jesus Christ knew he was coming, and he make the JUST ONE to come to pass (he has risen from the death and he came to fulfilled that which was written concerning him, that they might understand the scripture.

POINT 2; CHRIST’S MISSION AND WITNESS TO THE TRUTH

John 18:33-38; Matthew 27:11! Isaiah 9:6,7; Jeremiah 23:5,6; Zechariah 9:9; John 1:49; John 12:12-13; John 18:37; Romans 14:17; Colossians 1:12-14; John 1:14,17; John 14:6; John 8:30-32; Psalms 2:6

The important mission of Jesus Christ in the midst of the Jewish people and the position of the Pilate’s and who Pilate was. He was asking the Lord Jesus Christ about his position in heaven . Jesus Christ, who was placed as the accusers (Prisoner), his conditions was to proof to us that he was the Son of God in verse 36 “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” How do we confirmed the truth about Jesus Christ how Jesus Christ came to bear witness the Father has said of him (the witness of truth).

Jesus Christ has been recognized as the King, he came to emphasis the truth understanding that, Jesus Christ is the King “Jesus Christ answered, My kingdom is not of this world”. He has a kingdom ” For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

POINT 3: THE CONCEALED MISCHIEF AND WILLFULNESS OF TRANSGRESSORS

John 18:38-40; Luke 23;4,14; John 19:4,6; John 8:46; Hebrews 7:26; 1Peter 1:19; 2Peter 2:22,23; 1John 3:5; John 18:39; Matthew 27:18,19; Mark 15:9; Romans 1:29-32; James 3:14-16; John 18:40 ; Jude 24,2.

“But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews” Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber”

The transgressors are the Pharisees and Sadducee. They were the sinners). Jesus the answer and the truth ,he came to bear witness to the truth. Jesus Christ having no sin in him, he has no fault in him . Here we see Barabbas was not released to Jesus, he was not released to Christ, but the Pharisees released Barabbas ; their hearts is full of evil and those who commit such things are worthy of death. Jesus is able to save, cleanse from all sins. Jesus Christ has come to take away a abolished sin that he might destroyed the works of the devil “Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin, for the devil sinneth from the beginning”. The truth of the kingdom has been announced by the Lord Jesus Christ, that we should follow His Truth.

Congregational Song(GHS 74)

  1. There came from the skies in the days long ago,
    The Lord with a message of love;
    The world know Him not; He was treated with scorn
    This wonderful gift from above.

Chorus

They crown’d Him with thorns,
He was beaten with stripes,
He was smitten and nailed to the tree;
But the pain in His heart was the hardest to bear,
The heart that was broken for me.

  1. He came to His own—to the ones that He lov’d
    The sheep that had wander’d astray;
    They heard not His voice; but the friend of mankind
    Was hated and driven away.
  2. The birds have their nest, and the foxes have holes,
    But He had no place for His head;
    A pallet of stone on the cold mountainside,
    Was all that He had for His bed.
  3. I cannot reject such a Saviour as He;
    Dishonor and wound Him again;
    I’ll go to His feet and repent of my sin,
    Be willing to suffer the pain.

I’ll take up my cross, I will walk by His side,
For the pathway of duty I see;
I will follow my Lord and abide in His heart,
The heart that was broken for me.
