MORE STRENGTH FOR MORE MINISTERIAL BREAKTHROUGH
Job 17:9; Psalm 84:7, 11-12.
“The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.” (Job 17:9). The possibility is there for everyone who knows and serves the Lord to be strong, to be stronger, and to be stronger and stronger. This means that we can have more strength and more ministerial breakthroughs. “They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” (Psalms 84:7). This emphasises that everyone who comes to the Lord and makes petitions to Him starts strong, continues strong, and goes from strength to strength. Some people experience weakness when they go from excitement to tiredness and courage to discouragement, but if we wait upon the Lord and seek His face, we will go from strength to strength. “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.” (Psalms 84:11-12). We receive spiritual, supernatural and sustaining strength because of God’s grace that leads us to glory. We must fulfil the condition of walking upright to receive this strength from the Lord.
1. THE PROMISE OF SPIRITUAL STRENGTH FOR PRAYING BELIEVERS
Isaiah 40:28-31; 41:10, 13-15; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Ephesians 3:16-21; Zechariah 10:1, 12; Psalm 68:34-35; 84:7-8.
“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31). Our everlasting God is the God of the eternal past and future, with no beginning or end, and the One Who has always been and will always be. God gives power to those who are faint and increases the strength of those who are strong; therefore, we should always pray, not only when we are weak. If all we have is our human strength, natural ability, worldly strength and knowledge, science and history, it will cause us to fall utterly. But our strength, stamina, courage, and drive will be renewed when we wait on the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord implies that we stand still and see God’s manifestation. Both Moses and Joshua had to wait on the Lord for the children of Israel, as directed by God. The waiting period is not an idle moment but a praying moment.
2. THE POWER OF SUPERNATURAL STRENGTHS FOR A PENETRATING BREAKTHROUGH
Matthew 10:1, 7-8; Luke 1:16-17; 10:17-20; 24:45-49; Acts 1-8; Romans 15:1921; Ephesians 6:10-17.
Whatever ministry you start with is not your ceiling; there is more that you can do. If you have the gift of prophecy without the gift of faith, you may know the people’s problems, but you won’t be able to do anything about it. An apostle is a teacher, a pastor, an evangelist, and a prophet combined. The people who have gone before us waited upon the Lord; as you wait upon the Lord, He will move you from strength to strength, and your height in ministry will not be limited to your predecessors’. Joshua went beyond what Moses did in his ministry, and Elisha had a similar experience with the ministry of Elijah because he waited. While Elisha was waiting, he was not looking at the sons of the prophets or the scenery but at Elijah until He got the double portion. As you also wait upon the Lord, the double portion will be yours in Jesus Name. Elisha continued waiting upon the Lord even after Elijah had been taken away. Elijah represents the old generation of believers, while Elisha represents the new generation of believers; if the new generation is willing to wait on God, we will get a double portion of what the old generation had. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). The disciples already had the power to heal the sick, but they did not have the power to confront and stand before the Jewish elders. They had some power, but they did not have power over their fears and natural timidity. They needed the power to stand, to be fearless, courageous, bold, and to silence familial spirits and the Roman government while going into the world to preach the gospel. When we receive the power, we become witnesses for God in our immediate location and in the uttermost part of the earth. You will be a recipient of that power in Jesus Name.
3. THE PERSEVERANCE OF SENT SERVANTS AS PURPOSEFUL BURDENBEARERS
Mark 3:14-15; John 17:8, 16-18; Acts 3:26; 13:2-4; 26:16-22; 2 Timothy 3:1214; 4:1-8.
With perseverance, we can still move on in the face of challenges. As you persevere, you will make it by the grace of God. Noah had perseverance and was able to finish the task God gave Him despite the mocking of the people. Moses also demonstrated perseverance while leading the children of Israel through the wilderness. The church needs perseverance to keep on doing the work the Lord has given us until He comes. We need to add perseverance to our faith, and as we persevere, we will reach everyone with the gospel by all the means available to us in Jesus Name. If we persevere, no power on earth can stop us. With perseverance, we will not give up until we become the people we ought to be. We may face different challenges, but God’s grace is sufficient for us, and we will leave here with more grace, renewed grace, and increasing grace in Jesus Name. “And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (2 Timothy 4:18). God’s glory and strength will come afresh in your life, and the Lord will deliver you from whatever the imagination of the enemy may be to stop you. The grace of God of God is available for you, and as you wait upon Him in prayer, He will do something you never thought of or imagined in your life.
