The Excelling Christ, The Saviour Of The World, GCK India
John 4:42; Hebrews 7:26; Ecclesiastes 5:8b
The Excelling Christ is higher than all men and He holds a place in the highest. He is the Saviour of the whole world and in every generation. He excels every personality that has ever lived and He has a Unique Personality. We must, therefore, heed the call of the excelling Christ. As we look at the pronouncement of the people who met Christ and the recognition of Christ, John 4:42 tells us, “And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”, and Ecclesiastes 5:8b reveals that “…for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.” Christ is higher than the highest and He excels them all. He is higher than all angels and men and He offers to be your Saviour. When you give Christ the exalted position in your life, He becomes your Saviour, Redeemer, and the Power of God in your life.
1. THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB FOR ALL SINNERS
John 1:29,36; Isaiah 53:4-7; 1 Peter 1:18,19
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!” (John 1:29,36). Christ is the Sacrificial Lamb for all sinners everywhere in the world. Some people deny that they are sinners but that is just pretence and deception. If a boy claims to be a girl, that confession does not change their identity, or if another person claims and confesses that the earth is flat, that does not change the reality that the earth is actually spherical. The reality is that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Our sins may be in different shades and sizes but we have all sinned. There is only one Sacrifice for sins and it is the Sacrifice of our Unique Christ. The same Sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, once for all offered on the cross of Calvary is what is required for the salvation of all sinners.
It is a wonderful day in anyone’s life when he sees the Sacrificial Lamb coming to him. You are well-favoured and should be excited and ready to receive the offer of salvation from Christ. Let everything within you behold and concentrate on the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. You must behold Him to believe Him and belong to Him. When you truly believe in Christ, He enters your life and takes away your sins. When light enters, darkness is taken away. When grace enters, everything of disgrace will be taken away. He did the work at Calvary and that work still saves men today. When something occupies a place and someone comes to remove it, that place becomes empty. Similarly, when Christ comes in to take away sin, all old habits and sinful actions will no longer be in the person’s heart.
2. THE SUPERNATURAL LIBERATOR FROM ALL SICKNESSES
Matthew 8:16-17; Luke 6:17-19; Acts 10:38
“When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:16-17). The sick folks in this text would have sought help from other liberators but they remained sick, oppressed, depressed, possessed and tormented. As they brought the sick people to Jesus, He healed them all with His words. The word of Christ is as powerful as Himself. Jesus Christ heals our bodies in addition to saving our souls. His liberation is supernatural. As the Heavens are higher than the earth, so the Supernatural is higher than the natural. There are natural liberators and they have limited help they can offer but there is no limit to the help our supernatural liberator offers.
There are many sicknesses today that were not there a hundred years ago, that is why medical research is ongoing in the world but the supernatural liberator of the past is the same today and forever because, “Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today and forever.” If a medical liberator of a hundred years ago should come today, no hospital would employ him because the knowledge he used at that time is now outdated but thanks be to God, our Supernatural Liberator remains relevant in the past and the future. Everyone who asks will be given, those who seek will find and those who knock, the door shall be opened unto them. Christ does not discriminate. He heals and liberates because He came to fulfil the prophecy based on the promise of God. The promise and prophecy lead to a performance.
3. THE SAVING LORD OF ALL SINCERE SEEKERS
Isaiah 55:6-7; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:30-34
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9). There is a vacuum in every man. When God created us, He reserved a vacuum for Himself in us. This is why we are seekers. We can only get true satisfaction when the excelling Christ fills the vacuum in our lives. If someone falls into a well or pit, the person who pulls them out is their saviour. Christ comes to save people who are confused and perplexed. He saves us from sin, sickness, demonic powers, darkness and evil. He is the Saving Lord of earth and heaven. Whenever He steps into any situation, He brings salvation. The disciples cried, ‘Master, Master we perish’ and in one sentence, ‘peace be still’, the storm became calm. Jesus saves the sincere seekers who give up their fruitless search for freedom in human literature and philosophy.
All you seek for is found in Christ. Forgiveness, peace of mind and deliverance are found in Christ alone. You must come to a point in your life where you realize that other powers had authority over you, but you now decide that Jesus Christ becomes your Saviour and Lord. A sincere seeker beholds Christ the Sacrificial Lamb and Supernatural Liberator and Saving Lord, believes that in his heart, and makes a confession with His mouth. The physical location of the believing and confessing does not matter. People can only know what you believe in your heart when you confess with your mouth.
